What happens at the closing?

You will meet with a Closing Attorney assigned by SCU Credit Union. If a purchase, the seller, and his/her attorney may also be present. You may have also hired your own attorney to represent and guide you with the purchase process. The Seller will sign certain documents transferring property ownership. For a purchase and refinance, you will sign all legal documents relating to the loan transaction.  The Closing Attorney will also make sure all fees and escrows are paid to the appropriate parties. You may be required to bring certified bank funds to the closing for closing costs or in certain refinance transactions, receive funds post-closing after the required waiting period.  Copies of all documents signed by you will be provided by the Closing Attorney.
