Scammers can “spoof” the name and number on a phone call or text message in the hopes that you will answer. As a reminder: SCU Credit Union will never contact you and request information like PIN, account numbers, Social Security Numbers and online banking passwords. You should not give out or confirm any of this information unless YOU initiated the phone call. Use caution if you are being pressured for information immediately or if there is a sense of urgency.

What is Remote Deposit Capture? How does it work?

Remote Deposit Capture is a fast, secure and best of all, free*, way to deposit checks 24/7 wherever you are.

In the SCU Mobile App:

  1. Click Remote Deposit at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Select which account you want to deposit the check into.
  3. Type in the exact amount of the check.
  4. Endorse the check and write "For mobile deposit" below your signature (or, if available, check off For Mobile Deposit).
  5. Click Check Front. If you see "Prepare the front of the check", select continue in the bottom right of the screen. Align the check within the box and tap the screen to take the picture. If the picture is clear, click Done. If you need to retake the picture click the trash can icon. 
  6. Click Check Back and repeat the same process to take a picture of the back of the check. 
  7. Click Deposit Check.

Checks not drawn on U.S. banks and/or not U.S. funds cannot be deposited through Remote Deposit Capture. In this case, please visit one of our branch locations.
